This morning we bid our boat crew a sorrowful goodbye and once again began our land tour of Turkey. As for a short update on the riots, the prime minister against whom the protests are taking place decided to take a trip to Morocco for a few days to hide safely and let the energy die down. Considering how badly he insulted the beloved Ataturk, that was probably very wise of him. Anyway, we started at Myra to see the carved tombs and theater. According to Umit, there’s a lot of really cool unexcavated stuff, but the local representative had a summer home there and therefore sunk a ton of money into the theater.
